Jib cranes are one of the most flexible yet inexpensive pieces of overhead material handling equipment. They can be supplied for capacities as low as 50# and believe it or not up to 25 tons. Most shops will have at least one or two jib cranes usually 1 or two ton capacity. The range of models is quite impressive from floor mount, wall bracket, full cantilevered, mast type, articulating, or portable base and most of these can be manually or electrically driven rotation. Any jib crane over 3 ton capacity should typically be motor driven but depending on duty cycle and expectations of your shop workers there are many 3 and 5 ton manual jibs in the field working quite nicely. Add a hand chain hoist, electric chain hoist or wire rope hoist and you have a very effective piece of material handling equipment.
