Custom Lifting Device for Lifting Electric Vehicle Batteries
Problem: This customer works with electric vehicle batteries and was looking to improve their process of handling the large batteries and trays (some up to 200 lbs), as the previous methods were inefficient and put workers at risk for injury.
Solution: Ergonomic Partners developed this custom battery lifting tool that allows them to easily grip, lift, and rotate the parts. This versatile lifting device also has a portable custom cart that allows operators to detach the tool and move and set it up throughout the factory.
Ergonomic Partners built this pneumatic gripper tool with a steel and aluminum powder-coated frame and features Linatex padded grip jaws and Delrin alignment surface guides. The device offers 180 degrees of rotation with 90-degree detents. There are also side-mounted rotation handles for easy control.
Operators control this pneumatic gripper using the zero-gravity ergonomic floating handlebars that feature wireless crane and hoist controls, grip/release controls, and rotation lock controls. The lifting device also incorporates two independent safety systems for mid-air drop prevention: our custom gripper safety circuit and an interlocking common button with release controls.
Result: The customer now has an effective tool that can be used throughout their facility that helps to combat injuries associated with repetitive lifting and worker fatigue. This helps to improve the productivity of their operations and workplace safety.

Battery Lift Assist with Zero Gravity Arm
This custom lifting device grips and lifts 150-pound batteries for loading and unloading a pallet. The gripper features a steel and aluminum powder coated frame, floating handle, automatic center of gravity shift, Linatex rubber covered grip jaws, float mode, momentary proportional up/down controls and momentary grip/release. The tool is integrated with a Gorbel Easy Arm and equipped with our Gripper Safety Circuit preventing operators from accidentally releasing the batteries in mid-air.
