RhinoReel – Mill Duty Spring-Driven Cable Reel

The RhinoReel is the king of mill applications including grapples, transfer cars and magnet cranes. Its worldwide patented linear coil spring motor outperforms the life expectancy of clock springs by roughly three times. Being able to handle up to 100,000 cycles, the RhinoReel will save you money as an owner with less replacements and downtime. Even in the most demanding mill environments, the RhinoReelTM will offer an extremely smooth, linear torque curve due to reduced strain on the cable. Additionally, this reel is exceptionally easy to maintain. This is because of the completely enclosed spring mechanism which can be easily replaced by first removing the spring tension, followed by the removal of the spring itself. When trying to remove a classic power spring from its canister or enclosure, there is a chance it could violently unwind and result in potential injury making the RhinoReel a safer alternative. No routine maintenance is necessary for the main ball screw and chain drive system.

RhinoReel – Mill Duty Spring-Driven Cable Reel Features:
  • Water and dust tight; sealed to NEMA 4 for indoor and outdoor use. Finished with AUE 360 high solids polyurethane
  • Safety-sealed spring motors makes it weather tight for long life
  • Reels can accommodate a range of cables from 2 – 36 conductors.
  • Optional cable guides are available
  • Slip Rings rated from 75 to 400 amperes at a maximum or 600 volts.
  • The standard maximum speed is 100 ft/min (consult factory for higher speeds)
  • Includes spool lock, external adjustment and spring tension loss indicator
