Overhead Crane Variable Frequency Control
Magnetek's Family of Variable Frequency Drives for your material handling, overhead crane and hoist applications.
Confused as to what drive you need? Choose the model drive you want below, and size it based on the Full Load Amps of your Motor.
Magnetek's family of Adjustable Frequency Drives is the industry leader for your overhead bridge cranes, gantry cranes, motorized jib cranes and hoists. We design these variable freq drives with versatility, reliability, and safety in mind. Magnetek crane control models range from more basic, compact low cost vfd units to advanced variable speed drive units featuring Magnetek's exclusive overhead bridge crane and hoist software. Electromotive variable frequency drives meet the demands of Material Handling applications from 1/4 HP to 1,500 HP.
Typical VFD Configuration Settings for most Applications:
Soft start only — Provides adjustable acceleration, and one speed. This allows the hoist’s speed to gradually ramp up. Uses single speed control pendant (1 step buttons).
Multi-speeds — Provides up to 5 "repeatable" speeds and allows for adjustable acceleration and deceleration between speeds. The number of pendant button steps corresponds to the number of speeds the VFD provides – i.e. 3 step button = 3 speeds.
Infinitely Variable — Provides the ability to lock into any speed that the operator accelerates or decelerates to. To accomplish this, 3 step pendant buttons are used as follows:
- 3rd Step (fully depressed): Hoist accelerates and stops accelerating if the highest speed is reached.
- 2nd Step: Hoist holds a constant speed that was reached by accelerating or decelerating.
- 1st Step: Hoist holds a constant speed that was reached by accelerating or decelerating. If the button is depressed to the first step when the hoist is stopped, the hoist will lift/lower at the lowest speed.
- Let Go of Button: Hoist will stop immediately.
Magnetek Electromotive IMPULSE G+ Mini Adjustable Frequency Crane Controls
Magnetek Electromotive’s adds to their already potent lineup of overhead crane and hoist controls. Besides being the easiest to program it will retrofit onto your existing footprint of the P3 adjustable frequency drive crane control.
The new IMPULSE•G+ Mini from Magnetek continues their history of providing the most reliable and cost-effective adjustable frequency crane controls available.
The low horsepower (HP) IMPULSE G+ Mini is our easiest to program adjustable frequency drive to date, with user-friendly standard programming for Basic crane and hoist applications and advanced programming capability for high performance environments. The IMPULSE G+ Mini adjustable speed drive is designed with an expanded HP range and an identical dimensional footprint as the IMPULSE P3 Series 2 (up to 5HP) and a smaller footprint beyond 5HP.
All this, plus assured reliability and lower cost make the IMPULSE G+ Mini Adjustable Frequency Overhead Bridge Crane Control the product of choice for your overhead material handling needs.
